They stand 451.9 meters tall and were designed by architect César Pelli.
They were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and remain the tallest twin towers to this day.
The towers are connected by a skybridge on the 41st and 42nd floors.
The design is based on Islamic geometric patterns, featuring a floor plan shaped like an eight-pointed star.
Construction began in 1993, and the towers were officially opened on August 31, 1999.
They house, among other things, the headquarters of the oil company Petronas and serve as an icon of Kuala Lumpur and Malaysia.
