Flag of Nepal

It is the only national flag in the world that is not rectangular or square in shape; instead, it consists of two joined triangles (a double pennant).
Symbolism of the shape:
The two triangles represent the Himalayan mountain range and are also traditionally associated with the two main branches of the royal dynasty (as well as the two major religions: Hinduism and Buddhism).

Colors:
Crimson red: The national color of Nepal, representing bravery and the color of the rhododendron (the national flower).
Blue border: Represents peace and harmony.
Celestial bodies: The upper triangle features a stylized moon, and the lower triangle features a sun—each depicted with a face.
Originally, the sun and moon symbolized the hope that the nation would endure as long as these celestial bodies.
Today, they also signify tranquility and determination.

Official status: The modern flag was officially adopted in this form on December 16, 1962, following a modernization of the older, traditional banner.
