Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Spain)

The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is an iconic modern art museum designed by Canadian architect Frank Gehry.
It opened in 1997 and is situated on the Nervión River in Bilbao, Basque Country.

Striking form: A futuristic, organic design featuring undulating, shimmering titanium panels resembling a ship, a flower, or a fish.
The building appears to almost move.
Materials: Combination of titanium, limestone, and glass.
The titanium panels change color depending on the light and the weather.
Interior: Large, open spaces with high ceilings and natural light.
There are both traditional halls and enormous, irregular galleries specially created for large modern artworks (e.g., installations by Richard Serra).
Architectural style: Deconstructivism – one of the most revolutionary and photographed buildings of the late 20th century.
The museum has helped Bilbao enormously with its economic and cultural revival (the “Bilbao effect”). The building itself is often more impressive than the collection and is considered a masterpiece of contemporary architecture.

Millennium Dome

The Millennium Dome, located on the Greenwich Peninsula in London, England, is an iconic domed building built to celebrate the year 2000.
It opened in December 1999 and, from January 1 to December 31, 2000, housed the Millennium Experience, an interactive exhibition about Britain's history and future.
With a diameter of 365 meters and a capacity of 20,000 visitors, it was the largest domed building in the world in terms of usable volume at the time.
The project cost billions and was a financial fiasco with too few visitors, but since 2007 it has functioned as The O2: a successful entertainment complex with concerts and events.

The iconic, needle-shaped silhouette, inspired by the shape of a desert flower, houses luxury apartments, offices, a hotel (the Armani Hotel), restaurants, and observation decks on the 124th and 148th floors. Construction cost approximately USD 1.5 billion.
The building symbolizes Dubai's ambition and economic growth, but has also sparked debate about the working conditions of migrant workers.
