Flag of the Solomon Islands

The flag of the Solomon Islands features a thin yellow diagonal stripe running from the bottom left to the top right. 

Above it lies a blue triangle containing five white five-pointed stars arranged in an X-shape; below it is a green triangle. 

Blue represents the ocean, green the land, and yellow the sun. 

The five stars symbolize the five main island groups. 

The flag was adopted on November 18, 1977, shortly before independence in 1978.
