Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa (bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Mozambique).
Capital: Harare.

The country has experienced a turbulent economic history marked by extreme inflation.
Several currencies are currently in use, including the US dollar and the Zimbabwean dollar (ZiG).
The economy relies heavily on agriculture and mining (gold, platinum, and diamonds).
Zimbabwe is world-renowned for the impressive Victoria Falls on the border with Zambia, Hwange National Park (rich in wildlife), and the historic stone ruins of the ancient Kingdom of Great Zimbabwe.

The territory was formerly known as Southern Rhodesia and was a British colony.
After a long struggle for independence, the country gained independence in 1980 under the name Zimbabwe.
