It has 92 households and approximately 408 inhabitants.
It is known for its traditional Jiarong Tibetan stone architecture, ancient watchtowers (of which 22 remain), and the Dongnü culture, in which women play a central role.
It is located in a nature reserve close to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Giant Panda and is known for spectacular seas of clouds, sunrises, and fresh air.
In October 2025, the village was named one of the “Best Tourism Villages 2025” by UN Tourism.
Thanks to sustainable tourism (homestays, cultural experiences, and eco-programs), more than 90% of the families now earn a living from tourism, and income has increased significantly.
In short: a vibrant Tibetan cultural and nature village that combines tourism with the preservation of heritage and nature.
