Flag of Sierra Leone

The flag of Sierra Leone is a horizontal tricolour with three equal bands: green (top), white (middle), and blue (bottom).
The aspect ratio is 2:3.
It was officially adopted on 27 April 1961, the day of independence from Great Britain.

Meaning of the colours:
Green: agriculture, mountains, and natural resources.
White: unity and justice.
Blue: the natural harbour of Freetown and the hope of contributing to world peace.
The colours are based on the national coat of arms, which had been designed shortly before.
The flag has remained unchanged since then.
