Vienne

Vienne is a department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in southwestern France, named after the river of the same name. 
It has an area of ​​6,990 km² and approximately 437,000 inhabitants (2024). 
The capital is Poitiers, a historic city with Roman and medieval remains such as the Notre-Dame-la-Grande. 
Vienne is known for its rural character, castles, Romanesque architecture and attractions such as the Futuroscope theme park. 
The economy is based on agriculture, livestock and tourism.
