Aswan

Aswan Governorate is the southernmost governorate of Egypt, located in Upper Egypt along the Nile, with Aswan as its capital. 
It includes Lake Nasser, created by the Aswan Dam, and borders Qena, the Red Sea, Al Wadi al Jadid and Sudan. 
With an area of ​​62,726 km² and approximately 1.69 million inhabitants (2024), it has a poverty rate of over 60%.
Aswan is an important trade and tourist center with UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the Nubian Monuments (Abu Simbel, Philae). 
It has a rich Nubian culture, historical sites such as the Unfinished Obelisk and the Nubian Museum, and industries such as copper, steel and granite mining.
