Messinia

Messinia is a region in southwestern Greece, in the Peloponnese.
It largely overlaps with ancient Messenia, a historically fertile district with the Pámisos River Valley at its heart, known for citrus fruits such as oranges.
The region gained independence after the Greek War of Independence (1821-1832), with the Battle of Navarino as a pivotal moment near Pylos.
Messinia offers beautiful, unpretentious beaches, ancient ruins, and a blend of nature and history, ideal for relaxing holidays.
