Ash Sharqiyah

Ash Sharqiyah (also known as Sharqia or Al Sharqia) is a governorate in northern Egypt, located in the eastern part of the Nile Delta. 

It is the third most populous of the 27 governorates, with Zagazig as its capital. 

It is Egypt's largest agricultural region, with approximately 852,000 hectares of arable land, and has a rich historical significance.
