Flag of Mozambique

The flag of Mozambique (in use since 1983) is unique globally.
It is, in fact, the only national flag that incorporates a modern firearm.

Here is a brief summary of its composition, colors, and symbolism:
1. Horizontal bands Green: Represents agriculture and the fertility of the country's natural resources. Black: Represents the African continent.
Yellow: Symbolizes the nation's mineral wealth.
Narrow white bands: Represent peace and justice.

2. The red triangle and the emblem:
On the left side (the hoist side) is a red triangle.
Red represents the arduous struggle for independence (against Portugal).
Within this triangle is a circle containing an emblem composed of four elements:
Yellow star: Represents internationalism and socialism.
Open book: Stands for the importance of education and learning.
Hoe: Represents agriculture and the farming population. AK-47 rifle: Symbolizes national defense, vigilance, and the armed struggle for freedom.
