Sea Asparagus (Samphire)

Sea asparagus is a well-known sea vegetable that grows in saline soils and salt marshes.
It is a fresh, bright green plant with crunchy, fleshy, and somewhat tubular stems, similar in structure to young spinach stalks.

Taste: Distinctly briny and salty, as the plant absorbs salt water while it grows.
Health: Rich in healthy minerals (such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium) and fiber.
Note: Due to this natural absorption, it contains a relatively high amount of salt.

Preparation: Remove any hard, woody ends before use.
Delicious when briefly blanched or stir-fried (do not add any extra salt!).
Can also be used raw in salads.
Pairing: Pairs excellently with fish and shellfish dishes.
