Flag of Vietnam

The flag of Vietnam (national flag of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) is a simple red flag with a large yellow five-pointed star in the center. 

The red color represents the revolution and the blood of the fighters; the yellow star symbolizes the unity of the five main strata of the population (workers, farmers, soldiers, intellectuals, and youth). 

The flag has been in use in this form since the 1940s/1950s and became the official flag of the entire country after reunification in 1976.
