Kampong Chhnang

Kampong Chhnang is a province in central Cambodia, approximately 91 km northwest of Phnom Penh. The name literally means "Port of Pots" or "Pot Port" in Khmer (Kampong = port, Chhnang = pots/earthenware), and for good reason: the province is particularly known for its high-quality clay pots and traditional ceramics.

Location — On the banks of the Tonlé Sap River (which connects to Tonlé Sap Lake), with a bustling river port and floating villages.
Capital — The town of Kampong Chhnang itself, with a tranquil center and a bustling waterfront.
Known for — Pottery (still handmade in villages), rice paddies, sugar palms, fishing, and agriculture. Tourism — A peaceful and authentic alternative to busier spots; highlights include floating villages, river cruises, local markets, and ancient temples nearby.
Economy — Primarily based on agriculture (rice, fruit), fishing, and some garment factories.

It is a peaceful, green region with much traditional Cambodian village life – ideal if you want to get away from it all. mass tourism.
