Liaoning

Liaoning is a province in Northeast China (formerly part of Manchuria).
It is the southernmost of the three northeastern provinces and has a coastline of over 1,400 km on the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea.

Capital: Shenyang (formerly Mukden).
Largest other city: Dalian (major port and tourist city).
Historically very important: cradle of the Qing Dynasty (Manchu emperors), with, among other things, the well-preserved Imperial Palace of Shenyang.
Largest and wealthiest industrial province in Northeast China (heavy industry, steel, machinery, shipbuilding, oil).
Liaodong Peninsula (with Dalian) → modern coastal zone with beaches and port.
Borders North Korea (via the Yalu River).
Population: mainly Han Chinese + minorities such as Manchus, Mongols, and Koreans.

In short: Liaoning = industrial heartland + historical treasure trove + coastal province of Northeast China with Shenyang and Dalian as its main cities.
