Guizhou

Guizhou (贵州) is a mountainous province in southwestern China, known for its dramatic karst landscape, numerous ethnic minorities, and rapid modern development.

Capital: Guiyang (China's ultra-modern "digital capital").
Climate: Subtropical humid, abundant rainfall ("not three days without rain"), mild temperatures.
Nature: Extreme karst mountains, deep gorges, caves, and China's largest waterfall: Huangguoshu (黄果树瀑布) – spectacular!
Culture: Home to 48-49 ethnic groups (more than 37% of the population), primarily Miao (Hmong), Dong, Buyi, Yi, and others – colorful clothing, stilt villages, festivals, Lusheng music, and wax printing techniques.
Economy & Development: Formerly one of China's poorest provinces, it has experienced explosive growth since around 2015 thanks to big data centers ("China's Digital Valley"), cheap green energy (hydropower + coal), tourism, and infrastructure (highways, high-speed rail lines, and gorge bridges).
In 2024, GDP grew by 5.3% to over 2.27 trillion yuan.

In short: Guizhou = breathtaking nature + rich minority cultures + a rapid modern leap forward. One of China's most surprising and photogenic provinces!
