Zeeland

Zeeland is a province in the southwest of the Netherlands, consisting of peninsulas and islands such as Walcheren, Zuid-Beveland, and Schouwen-Duiveland, surrounded by the North Sea and the Western Scheldt.
With a population of approximately 390,000 (2023) and Middelburg as its capital, Zeeland is known for its Delta Works, such as the Oosterscheldekering, which provide flood protection.
The province has a rich maritime history, with cities like Vlissingen and Zierikzee, and attracts tourists with its beaches, water sports, and culinary specialties such as mussels and Zeeuwse boluses.
Agriculture, fishing, and tourism play a major economic role.
