Jas appears on King's Day and the Autumn Festival, accompanied by the mayor's call of "Jas, where are you?" and gives humorous speeches.
Unique in the Netherlands, he is carried by a strong man without a support, and can move his head, bow, and shake hands.
He is an ambassador for Boxtel, recognized as a UNESCO intangible heritage site since 2013, and is accompanied by dance and music groups such as De Keigoeikes and Keiknoepers.
