Gouda Clay Pipe

The Gouda clay pipe is a traditional tobacco pipe made of white clay, produced in Gouda since the 16th century.
In the 17th and 18th centuries, Gouda became the center of the Dutch pipe industry, thanks to the availability of suitable clay and craftsmanship.
These pipes, often decorated with symbols or coats of arms, were popular in Europe and beyond.
They are characterized by a long stem and a small bowl.
Today, they are primarily collector's items and cultural heritage, with the Gouda Pipe Museum serving as a key repository.
