Calabria

Calabria is the southernmost region of mainland Italy and forms the "toe" of the Italian boot.
It lies south of Basilicata, surrounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea (west) and the Ionian Sea (east), and overlooks Sicily via the Strait of Messina.

Capital: Catanzaro (Reggio Calabria is the largest city).
Calabria is rugged and mountainous (including Pollino, Sila, and Aspromonte), but also boasts beautiful coastlines with azure waters, white beaches, and cliffs (Tropea, Capo Vaticano, and Scilla are among the most beautiful places).
It remains relatively undiscovered and authentic: less mass tourism than many other Italian regions, with old villages, Greek and Roman remains, delicious cuisine (’nduja, Tropea onion, bergamot, fresh fish, olive oil), and a mix of nature, sea, and mountains.

In short: pure, raw, beautiful, and truly Southern Italian!
