The Horse Market, also known as 'De Mart' (The Mart), is the oldest horse market in the Netherlands and takes place annually on the second Wednesday of September in Valkenburg, South Holland. The tradition dates back to the year 840 and will celebrate its 1078th edition in 2025.
During the event, horses are traded, there is ring-riding, and entertainment for families.
