Tambú

Tambú is a traditional music and dance form from the Netherlands Antilles, specifically Curaçao, Aruba, and Bonaire.
It originated in the 17th century on plantations among enslaved Africans and combines drums, song, and sensual dance movements, symbolizing African roots and resistance.
Once banned by the colonial authorities, tambú is now recognized as intangible cultural heritage and a vibrant expression of Curaçaoan identity.
