Capital: Sacramento.
Largest cities: Los Angeles (largest), San Diego, San Jose, and San Francisco.
The state has enormous diversity: beaches, high mountains (such as the Sierra Nevada with Mount Whitney, the highest point of the lower 48 states), deserts (Death Valley, the lowest point), forests with giant sequoias and red forests, and fertile valleys.
Economy: California has the largest economy of all US states and, as an independent country, would rank around 4th or 5th in the world (GDP around 4 trillion dollars).
Important sectors are: Technology (Silicon Valley with companies like Apple, Google, and Meta).
Entertainment (Hollywood).
Agriculture (nuts, grapes, dairy – leader in the US).
Trade via ports such as Los Angeles.
Culture → Film industry, surf culture, diverse population (much immigration from Mexico and Asia).
Nature → National parks such as Yosemite, beautiful coastline (approximately 1,400 km), and varying climate (from Mediterranean to desert).
In short: California is a dynamic, innovative, and natural beauty-rich state that is on par with entire countries in terms of size and influence.
It is a symbol of the American dream, but also faces challenges such as the high cost of living, traffic, and wildfires.
