Colorado

Colorado is a state in the western United States, also known as the Centennial State because it became the 38th state in 1876 (100 years after American independence).

Capital: Denver (largest city).
Nickname: Centennial State or Colorful Colorado.
Geography: Colorado lies like a kind of "island" in the middle of the country.
It is characterized by enormous diversity:
East: Flat, grassy High Plains (Great Plains).
Center: The impressive Rocky Mountains with more than 50 peaks above 14,000 feet (over 4,200 meters), including Mount Elbert (highest point: 14,433 ft).
West: Plateaus, canyons, and part of the Colorado Plateau.
The state has a continental climate with dry summers, cold winters, and heavy snowfall in the mountains. The Colorado River originates there and supplies water to large parts of the western US.
Economy and Fame: Colorado is popular for: Tourism — skiing, hiking, national parks such as Rocky Mountain National Park and Great Sand Dunes.
Nature — mountains, forests, lakes, and desert-like areas.
Economy — technology, aerospace, defense, agriculture, tourism, and the (legal) cannabis industry.
Sports — famous teams such as the Denver Broncos (NFL) and Colorado Avalanche (NHL).

In short: Colorado is known for its breathtaking mountain landscapes, outdoor adventures and as one of the most beautiful and diverse states in America.
Perfect for nature lovers and road trips!
