Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes - Korea

Jeju Volcanic Island and Lava Tubes together comprise three sites that make up 18,846 ha. 
It includes Geomunoreum, regarded as the finest lava tube system of caves anywhere, with its multicoloured carbonate roofs and floors, and dark-coloured lava walls; the fortress-like Seongsan Ilchulbong tuff cone, rising out of the ocean, a dramatic landscape; and Mount Halla, the highest in Korea, with its waterfalls, multi-shaped rock formations and lake-filled crater. 
The site, of outstanding aesthetic beauty, also bears testimony to the history of the planet, its features and processes.








Fourth Nanjing Yangtze Bridge

The Fourth Nanjing Yangtze Bridge is a suspension bridge over the Yangtze River in China. 
The bridge is located near Nanjing city. 
The G2501, the ring road around Nanjing with two carriageways with six lanes each, runs over the bridge.

Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine and its Cultural Landscape - Japan

The Iwami Ginzan Silver Mine in the south-west of Honshu Island is a cluster of mountains, rising to 600 m and interspersed by deep river valleys featuring the archaeological remains of large-scale mines, smelting and refining sites and mining settlements worked between the 16th and 20th centuries. 
The site also features routes used to transport silver ore to the coast, and port towns from where it was shipped to Korea and China. 
The mines contributed substantially to the overall economic development of Japan and south-east Asia in the 16th and 17th centuries, prompting the mass production of silver and gold in Japan. 
The mining area is now heavily wooded. 
Included in the site are fortresses, shrines, parts of Kaidô transport routes to the coast, and three port towns, Tomogaura, Okidomari and Yunotsu, from where the ore was shipped.








Pernambuco

Pernambuco is one of the 26 states of Brazil. 
The state with the standard abbreviation PE covers an area of approx. 98,148 km² and is located in the central-eastern part of the Northeast region.

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape - Azerbaijan

Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape covers three areas of a plateau of rocky boulders rising out of the semi-desert of central Azerbaijan, with an outstanding collection of more than 6,000 rock engravings bearing testimony to 40,000 years of rock art. 

The site also features the remains of inhabited caves, settlements and burials, all reflecting an intensive human use by the inhabitants of the area during the wet period that followed the last Ice Age, from the Upper Paleolithic to the Middle Ages. 
The site, which covers an area of 537 ha, is part of the larger protected Gobustan Reservation.








Oruro

Oruro is one of the nine departments of Bolivia. 
The capital of this department is the city of Oruro. 
Spanish as well as Aymara and Quechua are spoken here.

Gamzigrad-Romuliana, Palace of Galerius - Serbia

The Late Roman fortified palace compound and memorial complex of Gamzigrad-Romuliana, Palace of Galerius, in the east of Serbia, was commissioned by Emperor Caius Valerius Galerius Maximianus, in the late 3rd and early 4th centuries. 
It was known as Felix Romuliana, named after the emperor’s mother. 
The site consists of fortifications, the palace in the north-western part of the complex, basilicas, temples, hot baths, memorial complex, and a tetrapylon. 
The group of buildings is also unique in its intertwining of ceremonial and memorial functions.
