Weaving Utensils

Weaving utensils is a traditional craft technique in which materials such as reed, wicker, straw, bamboo, or rope are woven into functional objects.
Think of baskets, mats, chairs, fishing nets, or hats.
This technique is used worldwide and varies by culture and available raw materials.
In the Netherlands, willow weaving is well-known, for example, for baskets and garden furniture.
The process requires skill and patience, with flexible materials woven into patterns for strength and aesthetics.
Today, weaving is also used artistically, but it remains rooted in practicality and sustainability.
