Black-tailed Prairie Dog

The black-tailed prairie dog (Cynomys ludovicianus) is a rodent native to North America, found primarily in the grasslands of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
They live in large colonies, dig extensive underground tunnels, and communicate with complex vocalizations.
Their diet consists primarily of grasses and seeds.
They are social, play an important ecological role, and are known for their warning "bark."
