With a total height of 979 meters and a free fall of 807 meters, the waterfall plunges from the Auyán-tepui plateau into a tributary of the Caroní River.
Named after the American pilot Jimmie Angel, who made it famous worldwide in 1933, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a major tourist attraction.
The area is characterized by unique flora and fauna and sandstone rock formations of the Roraima Supergroup.
