Black-haired hedgehog

The black-haired hedgehog (Zaglossus bartoni) is an oviparous mammal of the genus Zaglossus, belonging to the echidnas and lives in the forests and mountainous areas of New Guinea, mainly at an altitude of 2000-3000 meters. 
The animal is 60-100 cm long, weighs 5-10 kg, has a thick black coat, five claws on the front legs and four on the hind legs. 
It feeds mainly on worms and insects, is nocturnal and rolls up into a spiny ball when in danger. 
The species is seriously threatened by hunting and deforestation.
