Reggio Emilia is a city in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna and capital of the province of Reggio nell'Emilia.
The city has 163,928 inhabitants.
The city in the Po Valley is of Roman origin.
It was founded in 175 BC under the name of Regium Lepidi, named after the founder Marcus Emilius Lepidus.
