Tugboat

A tugboat is a boat or ship that is designed to tow and that has a large capacity in relation to its length.
In the steam era usually with paddle wheels, nowadays with a screw drive that is optimized for pulling power (pulling screw).
According to shipping legislation, any ship that tows another ship is a tugboat.
Since 2019, exceptions have been made for recreation.

Towing lines are usually attached to a bitt, towing hook or towing drum.
