Valongo Wharf, archaeological site - Brazil

In the busy metropolis of Rio de Janeiro, there is a silent witness to a traumatic past: the Valongo Wharf.
This archaeological site reveals the place where millions of Africans arrived as slaves.
The remains found, such as jewelry and religious objects, tell a story of hope, loss and the inhumane conditions in which these people lived.
By visiting the Valongo Wharf, we commemorate this painful past and learn from the mistakes of the past.
