Slime apple

The slime apple is a plant from the rue family. 

It is a deciduous, thorny, up to 15 m high tree with a short trunk, flaking bark and spreading branches that sometimes bear thorns. 

The species is the only one in its genus and, like the citrus fruits, belongs to the rue family.
