Red Bank (Belize)

The Maya village of Red Bank, off the Southern Hwy just south of the Placencia turnoff, would be well off the tourist radar if not for one remarkable natural experience.
The rare and spectacularly plumaged scarlet macaws gather in the trees surrounding the village for around four months of the year (December to March, though sometimes they will arrive as early as November) to feast on the fruits that grow in the area.

5 pictures of Red Bank.
