The Talampaya National Park are two contiguous national parks in the province of La Rioja in the middle of Argentina. The park is located west of the city of La Rioja in a basin between the Cerro Los Colorados to the west and the Sierra de Sañagasta in the east.
The area covers more than 275,000 ha in the desert region on the edge of the Sierra Pampeanas in central Argentina and contains the most complete continental fossil collection from the Triassic (245-208 million years ago).
