The Great Wall or Great Wall is one of earth and stone built defense line in northern China.
The more than 6,000-kilometer-long wall, which is called in 10,000 Chinese li long wall, built to protect the Chinese Empire against enemy rider nomadic peoples.
The complex stretches from Shanhaiguan, a district of Qinhuangdao to the Gulf of Bohai, the jiayu pass, near the city of Jiayuguan in Gansu Province.
The entire defense, including defense grooves of 359 kilometers and 2,232 kilometers of natural barriers (rivers, hills and mountains), has a length of 8.850 kilometers.
