Sailmaker

A sailmaker is a craftsman or woman who makes, repairs, and maintains sails, primarily for ships, but also for applications such as awnings, tents, or bags.
The profession requires skills in working with materials such as canvas, dacron, and other synthetic fabrics, and knowledge of sewing techniques, patterns, and rigging.
Traditionally, sailmaking was crucial to the shipping industry, but today it also focuses on modern technologies and materials for both recreational and commercial purposes.
