Tuscany is a region in central Italy, bordering Liguria and Emilia-Romagna to the N, Umbria and the Marches to the E, Lazio to the S, and the Tyrrhenian Sea to the W. The area of the Tuscany region takes up about one thirteenth of the national territory, or 7.6%.
