The tjampedak is a plant of the mulberry family.
It is a milky sap-containing tree related to the jackfruit, up to 20 m high, evergreen or deciduous in dry seasons, which differs from the jackfruit by 3 mm long, stiff, brown hairs on the branches, leaves and flower stems and buds.
