Zagazig or Zakazik is a city in Lower Egypt, in the eastern part of the Nile Delta, which is the capital of Ash Sharqiyah Governorate.
The name comes from a tribe of the Himjarites who settled in Egypt around the city of Bubastis in the 3rd century.
