Echidna - Tachyglossus aculeatus

The common or Australian echidna, also known as the spiny anteater, is an egg-laying mammal found in diverse habitats in Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea. 
It is the only species in the genus Tachyglossus. 
The echidna, together with the long-beaked echidnas, form the echidna family.
