Ålesund - Norway

Ålesund is a municipality in the Norwegian province of Møre og Romsdal. 

The city received its coat of arms on April 1, 1898. 

The sailing ship in the coat of arms, typical of the vessels of the 18th and 19th centuries, indicates the importance of fishing for the town.
