West Flemish Red is a Belgian cattle breed that originated from the 18th century Cassel Red cattle that populated French Flanders and the border region of West Flanders at the time. It is a dual-purpose breed, which means that it is kept for both milk and meat production.
West Flemish Red was recognized as a regional product in 2012.
