Black currant (Ribes nigrum)

The black currant is a plant from the ribes family.
The black currant is also found in the wild on wet, nutrient-rich soil in deciduous forests and especially in trouser forests.
The black currant flowers early, from April to May.
The black currant is self-pollinating, but cross-pollination gives more fruit.
