Tamarillo - Cyphomandra betacea
The tamarillo or tree tomato is a plant from the nightshade family.
It is a highly branched, fast-growing, evergreen, up to 7.5 m high semi-shrub with a short trunk and thick, soft branches.
The name Tamarillo was coined as a trade name in New Zealand in 1967.
The petiole is up to 17 cm long.
