Black cabbage (cavolo nero, palm cabbage)

Palm cabbage is black cabbage that originally comes from Tuscany. 

Because it is a winter-hardy cabbage, black cabbage is available from early autumn until well into spring. 

Cavolo nero can be eaten raw, but stir-frying or blanching for five minutes is also a tasty option.
