Zinc

The zinc (also called cornetto) is a wind instrument that had its heyday during the Renaissance, but which subsequently fell into disuse. 

The instrument was usually made of wood, although many plastic sinks now exist and a few ivory examples have been preserved. 

The instrument is blown like a trumpet (using lip tension) and has six finger holes and a thumb hole that allows it to be played like a recorder. 

Because of the blowing method, the zinc is placed under the brass instruments.
