Strasbourg

Strasbourg is the capital of Alsace and of the new, larger region of Grand Est in the NE of France. 

The city is located on the Rhine, on the other side of the Rhine is Germany. 

Still, the river Ill is just as important to the city, because the center lies between two arms of the Ill.
