Rixt van het Oerd

A folk tale about a witch on Ameland. 

A witch lives on the Oerd on Ameland. 

During storms, she lures ships to the island and scraps anything of value. She dies when one day she takes her own son out of the surf. 

Since then she has disappeared, but at night you can still hear a female voice crying for her child.
